High Quality Blasting Media from Rifatec GmbH
Blasting Media
Polyamide and Polycarbonate
Our polyamide and polycarbonate blasting media are manufactured from new raw materials. High quality, precise cubic or cylindrical cuts price the blasting medias. This consistently high quality ensures long life of blasting media, which is abrasion- and impact-resistant. This minimizes dust formation during the blasting process. The high elasticity of our blasting media deburr workpieces exact and leaving them undamaged. There is no color transfer from the blasting media to your workpieces.
Polyamide blasting media are suitable for deburring thermoset or die-cast parts, as well as for deburring delicate components. We offer a size range from 0.20 mm to 3.00 mm, as cubic or cylindrical cuts in various colors. Standard colors are red and natural.
Polycarbonate blasting media are suitable for cryogenic deburring of materials such as rubber, silicone, or polyurethane at subzero temperatures. Sizes range from 0.4 mm to 3.0 mm, in cubic or cylindrical shapes, and in natural and red colors. Special blasting media without bisphenol additives and with particularly long life time are available upon request.
To reduce electrostatic charging, we offer our antistatic liquid or powder.

Polybeads
Our Polybead blasting media is particularly suitable for deburring sensitive electronic components, delicate plastic components or for surface shot peening of 3D-printed plastic parts.
The Polybeads can be used in compressed air based blasting systems, preferably with injection blasting technology.
To reduce any static charging, we offer our antistatic liquid or powder.
Our systems, specially designed for processing 3D-printed plastic components, feature a curtain of ionized air. This also helps to reduce static charging during the blasting process.
We offer the Polybead blasting media in the grain sizes 200-400µm, 400-600µm, 600-990µm and 900-1300µm.

Plastic Blasting Media
Plastic blasting media Type II urea, Type II melamine, and Type V acrylic are an integral part of the manufacturing, processing, and finishing industries and are used wherever gentle cleaning of delicate molds, parts, and tools is required. Paint, rubber, PA, PP, PET, PVC, and many other materials can be removed without difficulty. Even PEEK can be cleaned effortlessly.
It is used for the gentle cleaning of injection molding and extrusion tools, for paint stripping, decoating, or degumming. It is also used for removing powder coatings. It can be used on steel, stainless steel, tool steel, aluminum, soft metals, and thin fiberglass, as a replacement for chemical pickling, in the aircraft industry, plastics/rubber industry, medical technology, paint industry, and many other sectors.
Our plastic blasting media is certified according to MIL-P 858991A.
We offer the following standard grits: 8/16, 8/20, 12/20, 16/20, 20/30, 20/40, 30/40, 40/60, 60/80, 80/120 mesh.

Envira Sponge Blasting Media
Sponge blasting, safe and environmentally friendly and low dust
Envira Sponge Blasting Media is a specially developed PU-based blasting media, a type of sponge for blasting. Any known blasting media can be incorporated into the sponge.
Function
During the blasting process, the sponge hits the surface which should be blasted. The impact pushes put the embedded blasting media on the surfaces, the blasting effect is unleashing . After the impact, the sponge returns to its original shape within seconds and falls to the floor. A vacuum surround most of the removed dirt as well as the abrasive itself.
Goal
You can blast with minimal dust and good visibility. The desired surface finish, as you know from classical blasting, is also achieved when using Envira Sponge.
Machine
To use our Envira Sponge blasting media, you need our special system technology, the mobile Sponge Blaster and the sieving unit, the Regrader.
We are pleased to send detailed information and our price list by email on request.

Illuminar Blasting Media
Corundum blasting media in round shape
Our round, aluminum oxide-based Illuminar blasting media produces a beautiful gloss level and a consistently smooth surface. It’s suitable for all blasting systems and offers an alternative to glass and ceramic beads. It’s particularly well-suited for processing high-quality visible parts such as trim strips and cell phone cases.
The use in wheel blasting systems, as an alternative blasting medium to cast steel or stainless steel, is also possible by adapting the system technology.
The key difference to ceramic beads is that our Illuminar blasting media does not have increased natural radioactivity and therefore no workplace restrictions need to be observed.
Available grain sizes are: 0-40µm, 80-150µm, 150-250µm, 250-425µm, 425-600µm, 600-850µm.
The Illuminar blasting media is also available as a sintered version.
